Help your heart’s health by eating more during the day
A new research study led by Columbia University suggests that women who want to protect their heart’s health should eat most of their calories early in the day and before 6pm. Although the ideal number of calories to be consumed after 6pm has yet to be determined, the study’s author recommends that they be less than 30% of your daily calorie intake.
Not sure what your daily calorie intake should be? According to the government’s official dietary guidelines, generally, women between the ages of 26-50 should be consuming between 1800-2,200 calories a day (this doesn’t apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding). According to the study, when we eat late at night, our bodies aren’t able to metabolize the food as well. Learn more about the study’s findings here.
