This Annual Enrollment Period, pay attention to your Medicare options
Have you reviewed your Medicare insurance options this year?
Every year, Medicare’s Annual Election Period (AEP) takes place between October 15 and December 7. Aside from special exceptions, this is the only time you have to sign up for, change, or disenroll from Medicare Advantage (also known as Medicare Part C) or Medicare Prescription Drug (Part D) coverage. Changes you make during this AEP will go into effect on January 1, 2020.
Sometimes, changes are made to the benefits and premiums of your Medicare Advantage or Medicare Prescription Drug plans. If any changes have been made to your plans, you’ll get an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) letter. The ANOC is usually sent in September. If you’re not sure whether your plan has changed, the Annual Election Period is a good time to review your plan benefits and make sure your doctors and prescription drugs remain covered in 2020.At Higi, we want to make sure you have the Medicare insurance you need to stay healthy. Medicare can be complicated and it’s important that you have a clear understanding of what your options are. If you’re not sure about what your coverage includes and if it suits your needs, be sure to review it during the AEP.
