COVID-19 and Alzheimer’s Disease

If you or a loved one has Alzheimer’s disease, you have most likely been impacted by COVID-19. While there isn’t information on any connection to Alzheimer’s disease and COVID-19, we know that older adults and those with serious chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and lung disease are at higher risk for serious illness.[1]

Plus, if you rely on caregiving support, there may have been disruptions in the support that you are receiving.With all of these changes, it’s important to find ways to stay healthy and get the support that you need. The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) offers many programs and services to continue to help. For instance, there are virtual programs, telephone-based support groups, and a helpline available to you through the AFA.
